Simply Delicious

.
We slurped down the freshly steamed baby octopus and the melt-in-the-mouth chicken feet.

The elastic and springy octopus went along well with the unique sweet, sour and spicy groundnut sauce. Not to forget the chicken feet (also known as “phoenix claws”)! It was a thrill to bite off a portion of the claw, suck the well-marinated skin from the bone and feel the skin slowly melt in the mouth before swallowing the essence down the throat.

There was no need of words nor gestures, the facial expression of my Johor colleague was sufficient to reaffirm the simple fact that Ipoh’s food is simply delicious.

  1. Wah, which part of Ipoh is this? The baby octopus cannot be found just anywhere as I know...

  2. Haha, the shop is near the famous Low Wong and On Kee tauge chicken. Same row with On Kee. :>

  5. It's been more than 1 year I've been hearing about the steam baby octopus. The closest we could get is to see the photo in your blog. Sigh...That's way too much patience for us.
