Idealism & Faith

Idealism and faith are two different things all together. Idealism has often been mistaken as faith.

Idealism is a foolish conviction that things will turn out the ways we want them to be. Idealism focuses on the individual self: "My Will be done!". It comes from the rejection of reality and stubbornness to live in a self-painted imaginative world.

Faith is a trust in things that we cannot see yet we dare to believe. It is first a trust in God, an acknowledgement of the harsh reality that lies before us, and a belief that He is with us no matter how dark situations may seem. Faith is simply believing that things will fall in place in the Greater Scheme of things.
.
Sadly to say, I am very idealistic, and have very little faith.

  1. Faith is having the conviction that what you believe is true, and will be vindicated in times to come...

Idealist are lazy thinkers, sitting back, hoping and wishing for the best.

  2. Well said, Sai Mun. Some idealists are truly lazy.

Some may have been working hard, but they do not realize that they have been flogging a dead horse. They think that if they keep flogging, the dead horse might rise and run one day.

Some will jump off the cliff, flapping their arms, thinking that they will soar like eagles.
