The Shore
“Come thus far,” said the Lord, “and no farther.”
“Here your proud waves shall break!”
The boy stood by the shore, at the boundary of dry land and stormy sea. The sight of the wave and the splashes of the droplets scared him though he knew the droplets would do him no harm.
“Why are you so frightened? How is it that you have no faith?”
The boy was mute to the questions. He knew he was safe on dry land but he had to leave the solid ground in search of another ocean.
He had to leave his little boat and broken net but he was not sure whether he would need them again.
“Unless I walk on water...,” so he thought.
