Live to Eat?

Would you want to travel for about 7 hours to and fro for a bowl of porridge and a bowl of "pan mee" noodles? I would not. But I know of people who would.

We started the journey at about 8.15am and reached Gua Musang, Kelantan at about 11.30pm for the so-called exotic food.

Gua Musang is famous for its frog. To Chinese, frogs are so common a dish that they are no longer regarded as exotic.

In mornings, frogs are served in porridge and noodles. Only in evenings, frogs are cooked for dinner in different forms and methods. You will find frog soup, dried chilli frog, steamed frog in chicken essence etc.

For this one-day trip, we only managed to eat the frog porridge and "pan mee". The food was delicious but it certainly did not worth the traveling.

For me, we eat to live and not live to eat. Going all out for food is just not my style.
